A novel adaptive step size control algorithm for adaptive filters
A novel adaptive step size control algorithm is proposed, in which the step size is approximated to the theoretically optimum value via leaky accumulators, realizing quasioprimal control. The algorithm is applicable to most of the known tap weight adaptation algorithms. Analysis yields a set of difference equations for theoretically calculating expected filter convergence, and derives residual ...
متن کاملModified FxAFA Algorithm Using Dynamic Step Size for Active Noise Control Systems
In this paper, a modification in the existing FxAFA algorithm by varying step size dynamically is proposed. The introduction of a dynamically varying parameter at the denominator of the step size, improves the convergence rate of the system. This new step size is calculated for every value of the error signal. The proposed algorithm gives faster convergence as compared to that of FxAFA algorithm.
متن کاملAdaptive Step-Size for Policy Gradient Methods
In the last decade, policy gradient methods have significantly grown in popularity in the reinforcement–learning field. In particular, they have been largely employed in motor control and robotic applications, thanks to their ability to cope with continuous state and action domains and partial observable problems. Policy gradient researches have been mainly focused on the identification of effe...
متن کاملMarket Adaptive Control Function Optimization in Continuous Cover Forest Management
Economically optimal management of a continuous cover forest is considered here. Initially, there is a large number of trees of different sizes and the forest may contain several species. We want to optimize the harvest decisions over time, using continuous cover forestry, which is denoted by CCF. We maximize our objective function, the expected present value, with consideration of stochastic p...
متن کاملVibration mitigation of railway bridges using adaptive damping control
In this paper, the advantage of an adaptive damping system is presented. A damper with variable stiffness is tuned based on estimates of the real-time frequency response, facilitating optimal vibration mitigation. The performance of the developed routines is investigated on an existing tied arch railway bridge. Based on previous field measurements, resonant behaviour of several hangers was foun...
